Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs, offering product demos when appropriate to showcase features and benefits
- Operate the cash register (POS system) accurately, handling cash, credit/debit card transactions, and balancing the cash drawer at shift end
- Upsell complementary products and promote ongoing sales campaigns to maximize store revenue
- Stock shelves, organize displays, and ensure merchandise is well-presented according to merchandising standards
- Provide knowledgeable answers about store products, including retail store product knowledge and grocery items when applicable
- Maintain excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via online inquiries
- Support inventory management by participating in stocking activities and monitoring stock levels
Requirements
- Previous experience with POS systems, cashiering, or retail sales transactions is preferred
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers confidently and clearly
- Bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases effectively
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership skills are advantageous for supporting team initiatives
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising, and grocery store operations is desirable
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and perform physical tasks related to stocking and merchandising
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and professional phone etiquette
