Join Confidential (Registered Users Only)`s Professional Services organization and partner with Defense and Intelligence customers to design, implement, secure, and optimize enterprise database environments supporting geospatial applications.
You`ll bring deep database engineering expertise to complex customer environments, working across database architecture, performance, automation, security, high availability, disaster recovery, cloud database technologies, and spatial data. You`ll also advise customers on database design, migration, and integration approaches throughout the engagement lifecycle.
Confidential (Registered Users Only) has a Relocation Assistance Program and can provide support with relocating to the Washington DC area for this position.
What You`ll Do:
- Design and implement scalable, secure, enterprise database environments
- Configure and maintain database platforms
- Develop high availability, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
- Monitor and optimize database performance
- Implement database security and access controls
- Automate database loading, maintenance, and monitoring
- Support database migration and integration initiatives
- Apply geospatial concepts including spatial data types and spatial indexing
- Advise customers on enterprise database best practices
Requirements
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in database design, administration, and optimization for Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or SAP HANA
- Demonstrated experience with database design principles, data loading techniques, backup and recovery solutions, performance monitoring and tuning, database maintenance, and security
- Scripting skills in SQL and Python for automation and data workflows
- Experience with cloud-based database solutions (such as AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database)
- Understanding of geospatial concepts such as spatial data types, coordinate systems, and spatial indexing
- Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to technical peers and non-technical project managers or customers
- US citizenship with Active or Current (within 2 years of active) Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, GIS, or related STEM field
Recommended Qualifications
- Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise geodatabases
- Knowledge of integrating GIS with other enterprise systems
- CompTIA Security + certification
- One or more industry-standard IT certifications (such as Confidential (Registered Users Only), Microsoft, Amazon, PostgreSQL, Oracle)
- Master's degree in computer science, mathematics, GIS or related STEM field
